Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard says his team could compete with anyone in the West, including the defending champion the Golden State Warriors.
He then went on to say (via CSN Bay Area) that if his team added Carmelo Anthony he wished other teams “good luck” with essentially trying to defend a Blazers lineup that already includes two of the West’s most dynamic scorers in Lillard and teammate C.J. McCollum.
Irving’s situation is just the latest round of nonsense, and it was apparently the tipping point for new Thunder player Patrick Patterson. The former Raptor sent tweets Tuesday mocking how the media handles sources and stories, and made up a bunch of funny rumors.
All of this is pretty weird, but so is the NBA offseason. If the media can make stuff up, why can’t the players? They have plenty of free time on their hands before the season gets going, so may as well spend it sending stupid tweets.
As for his colleagues, Bledsoe was caught off-guard by what Patterson had to say.
And that’s why a potential dramatic move — if it’s coming for guys such as Grichuk, Diaz and Piscotty — feels much more like an offseason thing than a July 31 non-waiver trade deadline thing. Not for nothing, that would also give the Cardinals more time to decide whether they think outfield prospects Magneuris Sierra and Harrison Bader are ready for full-time big-league duty in 2018.
The 2017 season has been a disappointment, no doubt, and even though this isn’t a franchise with massive foundational problems (far from it), there are other offseason decisions to make, too. What do they do with Carson Kelly, the stud catching prospect who is pretty much big-league ready at Memphis but blocked by Yadier Molina Cheap Jerseys Paypal in the majors? Do they transition Trevor Rosenthal from reliever to starter in 2018, his last year before becoming a free agent, or do they entertain trade proposals Cheap Jerseys US for him?
